This is a two thumbs up novel. I loved Rad Sergeant. The way he handled his friends Max and Peter's bickering. I especially enjoyed his gutsiness about going into the cave alone and discovering who was behind the ghost scares. And then, when he broke his foot how hard he worked to be able to ride in the rodeo. I love Rad Sergeant and want him on television!

I heard about the book from a friend, bought it, read it to be sure it fit my criterion and will pass it on to our grand daughter. The boys are real boys which is as it should be and they have a healthy sense of adventure. When the chips are down they make good judgements and exibit many of the traits that we all want our children to acquire. I am a fair ways from boyhood but still enjoyed reading the book.
