Quicksand: Billy Brightpath Volume III

By K T Dixon

Billy Brightpath thought the war was behind him. He was wrong.

After twenty-four years in the Army, a Medal of Honor, and more battles than any man should survive, Billy Brightpath wants only one thing-to return to the Florida Everglades and finally live in peace. But men like Brightpath don't always get to choose when the fighting ends.

Pulled back into the shadowy world of covert operations, Billy is sent on a top-secret mission into the Middle East, where a terrorist camp and a devastating weapon threaten to bring the nightmare home to American soil. The mission soon becomes deeply personal when an enemy from Billy's past reveals a secret that will change his life forever.

While Billy fights to survive overseas, another battle is brewing back home. In the Florida sugarcane fields, greed, corruption, revenge, and old-fashioned frontier justice collide as the people Billy loves are forced to fight without him. One ruthless enemy pursues his prey deep into the cane-only to discover that sometimes the land itself has the final say.

From the deserts of the Middle East to the swamps and sugarcane fields of Florida, Billy Brightpath is about to learn that the harder a man struggles against his past, the deeper it can pull him under.
