In our society today, there are many labels others deem necessary for us. Even though we can't change a person's perception, we do not have to accept the label. I have never thought of myself as a "widow." Most people's perception of this label is a woman who has lost her spouse and is left distraught, weak, and vulnerable. Her protector and provider is no longer here. She is no longer married and may lose her sense of living.

In Queen Warrior: Crown Bound, I share the journey of being a caregiver and now the matriarch of our legacy. Maintaining my faith in God, I am inspired to tell my story in hopes that it will help other women faced with the same journey. A person never knows how they will respond to the task of caring for the person who is near and dear to their hearts until faced with the task.
