Barry Cokern is bringing a ruined eighteenth-century plantation back to life. HolySmoke is becoming more than a refuge. It is being rebuilt as a modern law-enforcement training base for Costa Rican officers, a place where honest men can prepare for the fight already spreading across the country.
Conor Parnell, however, is focused on one man everyone else has written off. Glen Allen has been declared dead, compromised, or turned. Conor refuses to believe any of it. His stubborn pursuit of the truth finally uncovers Glen Allen's family being held in Honduras, trapped as leverage in a conspiracy reaching from Honduras to Panama.
The death of Ivanov and the sinking of Prometheus change everything. Glen Allen escapes two inept guards who had been holding him for his forced role in Ivanov's scheme to identify corrupt political and business figures capable of helping bring down Costa Rica from within. But his family is still in enemy hands.
As Conor, Roselita, Barry, and John Carson move to rescue them, Phoenix shifts its operations inland, using politics, intimidation, and corruption to rebuild what was lost at sea.
Quantum Edge 2 is a fast-moving thriller of loyalty, rescue, betrayal, and a widening war for the future of Costa Rica.
