He began his hunting career chasing deer with a bow in South Dakota, eventually hunting throughout North America, Africa, Russia, Australia, Greenland, and beyond. He has been recognized for many big game slams, including the North American 29, Dangerous Game of Africa, and African Big Five. He believes deeply that protecting hunters' rights is an effective way to protect the future of animals in our ever-changing world. He lives with his wife and dog near his childhood home in Arlington, South Dakota.
