Pursuing a Dream: An unavoidable Taboo

A candid portrayal of what can come about when a young man, who has struck out at love repeatedly, and becomes desperate in his search for a relationship with a particularly attractive lover, now pursues it in less acceptable ways. It is a story of how powerful the combination is, of a beautiful girl, who is also willing to spend her time and attentions with you; and how a young man can become so captivated, yet also so frustrated, as she is forbidden fruit, in the situation; yet she has quickly become the object of his affections. It is a story written by a desperately-in-love young man, who had enough courage to unabashedly lay out just how infatuated a guy can become with a young teenage girl who has developed early, in terms of her womanly attractiveness. The story shows how he negotiated seemingly-impossible barriers to overcome, in an unusual situation; and how it was, that he could hardly help himself from developing a growing obsession toward wanting a relationship with her, after living with her family for several months, and having grown close with her in many ways. This is not a story covered up by false bravado; it is a unique and intimate look at what makes taboo tick In addition, it is an account of an unusual brand of parental dysfunction, and Mike's struggle to countermand the effect of strong parental prejudices which would contaminate any possible objectivity, in the course of their attempted guidance of their teenage kids. It is also a window into the soul of a very unique, extremely bright and clever man, who is Bonnie's father in the story; although he apparently struggles with scars left over from his own upbringing, and from his own obsession with bar-room drinking escapades.
