Better than the usual cozy mystery

A quite enjoyable read. Wonderful characters, and truly entertaining. Not the overly structured and predictable cozy read. Thrilling but in the cozy mystery vein but without the mystical or romance. Just a true mystery with interesting characters and a bit of different world building. Loved how the family is all involved with one another and wound in one another’s lives, much like my own. Really loved the story about Puck the cat and how he was “around”. Was my first time reading this author, and think I would read again. One thing I really appreciated was the explanation’s of background characters but how those explanations didn’t get carried away and overwhelm the actual story. Just give us enough to know who they were and why they mattered to our main character. Many authors could actually learn from this, in my opinion. If you want a good and enjoyable mystery read… pick this one up. Arc read
