Puri Puri --A girl's review

first of all, I have to say that I enjoyed this Manga thoroughly. Much more definitely, but I thought I would. I will agree that it's a little bit male centered :-), but I don't think it's really that overdone. Especially for other kinds of comics in its genre. The art is very pleasing, and I think all the girls are really cute, and very sweet, but also with a variety of personalities. A variety of troubles also, that Kamimoda-kun, as a priest in training, sincerely tries to fix. His character is by far the most refreshing. Yes, he gets more bloody noses than I have ever seen anyone get in my life, and if I had as many as he did, I think I would be in a coma ;-), but when all is said and done he is an enjoyable, admirable, and above all, likable character. I have read up to volume 6, and I am just as thrilled to read this one, as I was to read the first. I will be looking forward to volume 8 with much anticipation.

Fun little concept...

It still is a boy's fantasy manga though, so be warned ladies. This one's catering to the teenagers' screaming hormones only.

Better than it should have been

I picked up this manga even though the one boy with many girls harem style stories are getting old. I am glad I did. The Hero of the story Masato still gets himself into all sorts of trouble that allows the artist to draw the girls from happy angles but he has a heart. Why does that matter? Because as a reader I like to actually like the people I am reading about. The story is often basic silliness for this type of manga but in Puri Puri it just feels right and and watching our Masato run from trouble to trouble with only the best intentions makes for fun reading. The religious aspect of the story adds a bit of morality often overlooked in manga today and adds a freshness to this story for mei. ^_^ This 1st book spends allot of time developing the many girls Masato will be interacting with for the rest of the series and as such did not have allot of time for any one gal. I would like to tell you about the story but there is to much, so I will sum up with this. Masato is a young man looking to dedicate his life to God and goodness. To this end he is in school to become a priest, but how will Masato keep his mind on the purer things while attending an all girls school where the gals would just love to lead him astray? (oh you know you just have to read it now!!)
