London is collapsing from beneath.
After the horrors of Eastern Way, Dave Chevis tries to return to normal night operations at Thames Road Depot, but the roads below the city have already changed him. Ancient gates buried beneath London begin opening one by one, revealing a hidden network of dead roads, forgotten tunnel systems, and generations of lost workers still trapped on endless shifts Below Level.
As Aldgate, Ludgate, and Bishopsgate fail, Dave and the remaining members of the Silent Shift uncover the terrifying truth behind the feeding roads. The monstrous entity haunting the tunnels is not the real danger. Something far older sleeps beneath it - a buried force hidden under centuries of infrastructure and sealed away by endless road closures, sacrifice, and operational continuity.
With London sinking into dead diversions and ancient routes resurfacing across the city, Dave becomes the final supervisor tied to the containment network. To stop the deeper thing from reaching the surface, he must authorise the last closure and decide whether the roads should remain buried forever.
But beneath the final gate, something else wakes.
And it knows his name.
