A great buy

Andrews and Bonta capture the essence of modern thinking about "What works" in criminal justice. They present a detailed history of how the "nothing works" thinking influenced the administration of corrections and justice. They also provide a wonderfully succinct guide to factors which are the important components of effective programming with offenders. Everyone who works with offenders should read this.

Great for Research!

I thought this book was superbly written. As an undergraduate student, I found this book extremely helpful in my forensic psychology seminar, as well as interesting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in criminology and/or psychology.
