Psychoanalysis and Discourse Analysis: the immigrant subject in question

This work analyses the effects of meaning contained in the statements of subjects from Maranh o, immigrants to Goi s, students at a municipal school in Goi nia, in the Youth and Adult Education modality. The aim of this study is to seek the contributions of Discourse Analysis (DA) and Psychoanalysis, verifying the critical addition of these theories, in order to weave an analysis of the immigrant subject in Goi s. To this end, the work is divided into two chapters: the first, of a theoretical nature, studies the concept of the subject in DA and Psychoanalysis; the second, in turn, presents the methodology and analyses of the statements from Maranh o collected in the field, at school. Thus, the analysis of the immigrant subject does not result in a total clarification of immigration or a 'typical' understanding of Maranh o, but rather exposes the slippage of signifiers, which makes it impossible to completely erase reminiscences, like a palimpsest.
