Armchair Travelers Will Approve

Provence je t'aime gives the reader a chance to experience what it would be like to move to southern France and settle in to life in a different culture without actually going through the hard work of doing it. Gordon Bitney's experiences are maybe not as raucous as those recent memoirs of naïve Anglos landing amidst wily French or Italian or Greek country folk. He writes respectfully about his new neighbours and his on-site lessons into the foods and wines of the region are really interesting. If you have always dreamed of moving to Provence, but you know that it's not likely to happen any time soon, Provence je t'aime may satisfy the dream until your chance comes along.
