The ladies of Covington once again face life's trials and tribulations with help from their family, friends and community in this charming novel for women of all ages. In Covington, life seems settled into blissful domesticity. Happily married now, Hannah and Max together nurture the parkland they saved from developers. But their peaceful life is shattered when Max's estranged son, Zachary, returns from India with his pregnant wife, Sarina. Soon there will be a new baby in Covington, and Hannah and Sarina bond while shopping in preparation for the blessed event. But Hannah worries about the rift that still exists between Zachary and his father. Can it possibly be repaired? Despite her instant affection for Sarina--and for baby Sarah when she arrives--Hannah worries that Zachary's return may cause more heartache than joy. Has their quiet peace fled forever? Interwoven with the continued stories of Grace, Amelia, and others who have joined their circle, this beautiful and touching tale is a moving addition to the Covington series, sure to be cherished by readers new and old.
I have read almost all of this series and have loved virtually every one. This one focuses on Hannah and her stories more than the others, although all our favorite characters are there to some extent. I appreciate that the author has "matured" the characters enough that grudges aren't kept for long periods of time anymore. That was a bit much in some of the earlier works. This one is just a gentle, wonderful story of the lives of some very interesting people, with very believable situations and reactions. I just loved it. And, from the little spoilers in this book about the last one, Unexpected Family, I'm going to go back and read that one as well (I'd initially decided not to because Amelia has been known for her grudge holding and the story sounded like she could have taken a hundred pages to accept the new people in her life, but the author seems to have mellowed Amelia a bit in that respect and for that I'm grateful). While I'd recommend starting at the beginning of the series, it wouldn't be too confusing to just start here. Thank you, Medlicott, for giving us a series of books with mature, lovable characters and their struggles and triumphs!!!!

This may be the best of the Covington Series yet. New and exciting things keep happening to the Covington Ladies. This shows we really are only as old as we feel. Easy to follow and a real attention keeper.
Another great story from North Carolina!

As usual, the ladies of Covington entertain us with their lively lives. It's fun to read about the extended families, but the ladies are special. I dread coming to end of the story. Joan's books are so refreshing. Gail Melluzzo
