The first selection in this book is Prometheus Bound, a play by Aeschylus, the first part of a trilogy of which the others, Prometheus Unbound and Prometheus the Fire-Bearer, are lost. The second selection is by Percy Bysshe Shelley, who tacked an interpretation of the myths and meanings of Prometheus Bound. The result is his great lyric drama, Prometheus Unbound presented here.
