From Preface to 3rd Edition: "'Profound Simplicity' was written in 1979 as an outgrowth of the human potential movement of the late '60s and early '70s. The book reported a convergence among the major approaches to the human condition: psychological, spiritual, physical, and energetic. [This book] describes 7 principles with which these approaches more or less agree. 1 - TRUTH - Joy is enhanced by telling the truth 2 - CHOICE - We choose our own lives 3 - SIMPLICITY - The most profound solutions are simple 4 - LIMITLESSNESS - Human beings have no limits 5 - HOLISM - All things are interrelated 6 - COMPLETION - Joy is enhanced by completing each experience 7 - DIMENSIONS - The basic dimensions of human life are inclusion, control and openness The first part of the book elaborated these principles, and the second part presented them as a basis for a social philosophy.
