Book Overview

The leading clinical reference and text in the field, originally developed by the late Sandra Leiblum, this volume addresses the full range of sexual problems and concerns that lead men, women, and couples to seek help. Prominent experts describe cutting-edge assessment and treatment approaches that draw on psychological, interpersonal, and medical interventions. Detailed case examples illustrate how the therapeutic strategies are implemented and shed light on the factors that influence outcomes. The book is grounded in current knowledge about sexuality and sexual functioning across the lifespan. Tightly edited, it features an integrative introduction and conclusion plus a brief editorial commentary at the beginning of each chapter.

Great reference book

I have many books on sex therapy and this is the one that I keep closest at hand. The research is current and the text is well-edited and easy to scan. I've learned a lot that I've put to good use in my sex therapy practice.

Intersting text

This was a required text for a masters course in Human Sexuality. It is a great resource for many of the discussions and assignments that were required. I will be keeping this book as a resource.

read it

I'm a marriage counselor and I think every sexually active adult should read this book; especially men who are struggling to understand their female partners sexual response. It's well researched and I think easy enough to read for the lay person. It reports state of the art therapies for most sexual dysfunctions and describes the different way that men and women experience their sexuality.

Sex Therapy text

I am a Ph.D. student in a marriage and family therapy program. This book was assigned by the professor of my sex therapy class. It is clinical and in some aspects 'over my head' with medical information. But it is well written and provides excellent information on various sexual related disorders and dysfunctions. The information will serve me well in my future work with clients.

Searching for new technics in sex therapy

As sex therapist i found very useful the former edition of this book,in special with the sex offenders, in México is very scarce this topic. I have apreciated the chapter about special couples as homosexual and bisexual ones, a theme not frequently developed by sex therapy.
