Psalm 23:5
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
There are many scriptures in the Bible to prepare the way of the LORD and what He wants others to do. He is all up into the plans. Here is one of my favorites. God is preparing us for the overflow in our lives. Overflow of what you say? We shall overflow in all that He has done for us; we shall overflow in God's goodness. Couldn't you just see it now? Our lives overflow on others all the time. The Lord has given us many testimonies to encourage others; it's just not for self: me, myself and & I, but for those all around us and those we are about to meet
in the days to come. Because reading the next scripture with a prepared heart as verse six follows verse 5 is such an enormous blessing:
Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
All of Psalm 23 tells a story of preparedness as God is our Shepherd who prepares a table with our enemies all around us in verse 5 and anoints us on our heads and the oil runs down over and over until the overflow reaches others and we are blessed to be a blessing Then for the finale God prepares us with angels to follow us and their names are: Surely, Goodness and Mercy and they shall follow us all the days of our lives and we will live (dwell) in God's House with the LORD for all eternity and never look back. Psalm 23 is a great preparation for these days ahead when we struggle or dread or come upon trouble, we will have this good foundation that the LORD has done in all of us, who love Him. Read all of Psalm 23 and meditate on it for its fullness. We are always being prepared until that final day comes. When will it be? Nobody knows for sure. We walk by faith looking forward.
