On his wedding day, Jim begins to second guess his decision to marry Ann. He finds himself torn between his desire to be with her and the reality that their relationship has changed during the engagement. He turns to his married friends Ben and Carl. They assure Jim that Ann's altered behavior is due to "premarital flutter", something all couples experience. Ben and Carl lead Jim to believe that after the wedding, the fights will soon end; the money problems will disappear, and sex will be one wild night of pleasure after another. Jim is now more excited than ever but when he leaves the room, one of his buddies says to the other, "Are you gonna tell him?" "No way," answers the other, "Nobody told me!"
