Stay up late to read this one...!

I never read the first two books, I admit it, but these characters pulled me in. I stayed up 'til nearly 1:00 a.m. reading one evening. (yawn) But I wasn't disappointed. Through the characters, I saw examples of forgiveness in action--and how we must learn to forgive, which isn't always an instant occurrence. I cheered for Blythe and even cried a couple tears for her situation. Thanks for a great story! Now to get the first 2 books...

You can't run from your past forever...

Boeshaar has outdone herself in Precious Things. She flawlessly mixes the past with the present in a story that deals with tough issues such as Forgiveness, a Hidden Past, Rekindling Friendships, and of course, Romance! The twist at the end really threw me. A terrific read that you won't be able to put down until you finish!You HAVE to get this one!

Filling the Emptiness

Blythe is a former hippie who gave up her baby daughter, Kylie, after the sudden and tragic death of her boyfriend Rob. Kylie is adopted by Blythe's close friend Wendy, who is sworn to secrecy. Many years later, Kylie recieves a faded photograph and begins to piece together her past, which includes contacting Blythe for answers. Ms. Boeshaar weaves the past with the present wonderfully, giving us a glimpse into Blythe's colorful past as well as her outlook for the future. The tagline for this book is "A mother's empty arms and a daughter's empty heart," as the story proceeds it shows us how God's love made both full again. His love and forgiveness are never far away. This novel is very true-to-life, which I enjoy in Christian fiction. It shows that many Christians have less-than-perfect pasts and how their faith changes all of that. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who is a mother, or a daughter.

Don't Miss This One!

Precious Things by Andrea Boeshaar is a "don't miss this one" type of story. If you have already read books one and two of this series, Precious Things (PT) is a MUST! If you haven't yet read Broken Things and Hidden things, click as fast as you can to those titles and order them! Of course, as with any series, it is best to read them in order. Back to PT. Ms. Boeshaar has intricately wound together all the angst playing out in the hearts of her characters and deftly shows how without God's intervention and love nothing can be resolved. The reader travels Blythe's journey from a life protected by her deftly hiding behind her antiques business to literally being stripped bare of her protective cover. As much as it seems her life is all but falling apart, it is God's way of lovingly putting back together all that was broken so many years ago. Not only in Blythe's life but in so many of the characters you've come to know and love throughout this series. Order this book. You won't be disappointed!

Precious Things

A thirty-year-old secret impacts the lives of three different families. Precious Things, third in the Faded Photograph series, is both poignant and inspiring. I was swept along in the lives of Ms. Boeshaar's wonderful characters.From heartbreak to joy, from hopelessness to fullfillment, the author wraps up the intertwining stories with a satisfying conclusion. Nevertheless, I find myself hoping that, perhaps, I'll meet these friends again.
