Pre-Augustan coins from Cavaillon's Saint-Jacques hill

This study of 764 coins found on the Saint-Jacques hill in Cavaillon (Vaucluse, France) brings together the collection of the Mus e de la Ville and a private collection, previously published separately. Together, they provide a good overview of monetary circulation on the Cavaillon oppidum of Cabellio in pre-Augustan times. As at other sites in the Lower Rh ne Valley, circulation was dominated by Massali te coins, accompanied by coins from N mes and the Ar comiques, as well as coins from the cavares of Avenio and Cabellio. A few foreign coins, from the Rhone valley and inner Gaul, and a very rare coin from Phocaea complete the collection.
