Great Story of a life in the Early 20th Century on the Canadian Prairie

This is an excellent autobiography of the early years on the prairie farm in Saskatchewan, Canada. Harry was born in 1909, and his autobiography begins in 1917, when his family buys an old farm. Harry is a famous nature artist and naturalist. His interest began as a boy on his parents farm. Harry has to take care of Sheep, Cattle, Chickens, Turkeys and other farm animals. Then Harry and his friend George venture into the woods and watch Beavers, Chipmunks, Coyotes, Moose, Birds and also other animals and wild plants. At first he wants to shoot with George's family's old powder musket, then he finds That he is more interested in watching, observing and following and studying the animals. This is a book for any age. Many of the animals Harry observed are now in low numbers or extinct. I am not sure that today's child would understand this book unless over 14. I love this book because like Harry, I grew up in the woods although I was born much later.
