Charming, but with a point

This is one of the late Pogo books, from the early 70s, and captures all the best there is of Pogo. It has a gentle mood, but still makes its points about our wasteful society (and who to blame). It also lampoons the political figures of the day, seriously, but with a light touch that today's cartoonists can't match. Pogo is one of the best-loved comics ever, and this book shows why. Enjoy! //wiredweird

I go Pogo

There just ain't no better than vintage Pogo. He's just as good as we'll ever get. Makes the swamp we all live in look better thru Ol' Pogo's eyes. You can see things the way they really are!

amazing later-years Pogo

This book has some of the most intelligent writing andbeautiful/creepy art in the Pogo canon. It's not very wacky, but whatit might lack in goofy friendliness it more than makes up for in elegance and subtle satire. If you like Stanley Kubrick's anti-war movies you should check this out -- not to say you won't still like it even if you hate Kubrick.

Vintage

If this be out of print, Pogo fans should track it down any way they can. This is Kelly's later years masterpiece, a skillful skewering of the entire Watergate mess, with an antipollution bit thrown in for good measure. As usual the artwork is stunning.
