Alison Lesley writes: "I have always struggled with witnessing the cruelty, inequality and injustice in the world and find some relief in putting thoughts and feelings into simple poems. I have campaigned on many issues over the years, primarily Free Palestine, and earlier this year I had the questionable honour, while sitting quietly in Trafalgar Square, of being arrested and charged with Terrorism Hence the poem Under the gaze of Nelson. Other poems were written in sorrow or anger or both."

All proceeds from the sale of this book go to Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and We Are The Tree (a refugee self-support group)
