Pirate Mom

Our family loves "Pirate Mom"! The appeal of a Mom being a pirate and the role switches in the book is great reading for young children. We bought copies for all of our grandchildren and others in our family. It's fun to listen to the giggles and see the their smiles as they're reading "Pirate Mom", a book they can read themselves. As a retired elementary teacher I'd love to see it in all the schools!

Pirate fun for kids

Deborah Underwood's "Pirate Mom" is a hilarious romp about a boy who has to deal with his mom after she is hypnotized into thinking she is a pirate. The parent-child role reversal is sure to delight children, and the easy-to-read format builds a beginning reader's confidence. Highly recommended.

Silly, fun book

The story is fresh and unpredictable, the illustrations are amusing, and the tension builds until the boy, Pete, resolves the problem the grownups caused. Go Pete!

Pirate Mom Rocks

I've shared this wonderful book with a dozen of my students so far. They've all been completely engrossed and enchanted by the magical story and the entertaining drawings. The 7 year olds can read it on their own, and have been reading it aloud to my younger students. It's adorable to watch. It's been a huge hit, and most of the students have gone out to get copies of their own to enjoy at home.

Updated Pirate Story

My wife is a pediatrician and this book has already become a popular favorite in her waiting room. It puts several modern twists on the age-old childhood fantasy of becoming a pirate and does so in a very clever and engaging way.
