Pilgrims And Thieves (Tales of Corenthal)

By Al Onia

SWORD & SORCERY

An ancient, perhaps otherworldly, relic which passed through Barnaby the Quick's hands in his youth, has resurfaced. Opposing interests seek the fetish; a pair of pilgrims from far to the east, and a privateer hired by a cult restoring a necropolis leagues south, believe it to be within Corenthal.

Barnaby's initial larcenous reaction to fleece both parties, is soon replaced by honor, when he witnesses the relic's evil power. Choosing sides, he walks a dangerous path of deception to preserve his life while hoping for profit. After all, Barnaby the Quick has a reputation to uphold.

He recruits his allies from Corenthal's recent victory over the sorcerer Ankhar, and includes the two pilgrims, the last of their religious mission, which departed their homeland two years prior.

The intrepid company must traverse a continent to return the evil horn, known as the Basrath, to those who descended from its creators. Ankhar's link to the Basrath is revealed, making it's destruction more imperative. But will physical destruction end its influence?
