This review applies to the Pictorial Cyclopedia of Photography. I bought this and read it in its entirety in the late 1970's. It is beautifully bound on glossy paper. Subjects are covered in alphabetical rather than thematic fashion. It is richly illustrated with photographs. It is a wealth of information about everything related to photography. It was written in Great Britain. Nomenclature and expression in the writing sometimes require a little "translating" for North America. The authors include many details about the chemistry of photographic solutions, often so that the user could blend his own. Even though the world has gone digital and darkroom processes are waning, there is a lot in the book that would make anyone a better photographer, whether he uses digital or film cameras.
