This panoply of amazing abstract patterns that occur naturally on the earth's surface features over 400 photographs by award-winning aerial photographer Bernhard Edmaier, the author of the international bestseller, Earthsong. Collected into a compact handbook, his images of craters, pools and islands; rivers, canyons and streams; estuaries, icebergs and salt flats are all categorised by shape and form into clearly defined sections. This book is a fascinating source of inspiration for those working in the creative industries and the arts as well as environmentalists and anyone who marvels at the world around them.
This book reveals that the earth itself produces artistic images as inspiring (or moreso) than the best produced by the acknowledged masters. Most of the photos included are patterns seen from aloft, but also represented are smaller treasures. I've always sought out such images, from those discovered in diminutive stones to the glactic wonder-works revealed by the Hubble Space Telescope, and this collection provides ample fodder for spiritual reflection.
Inspiration for My Book

A few weeks ago I came across this book in a local bookshop and I immediately recalled all beautiful patterns I have seen and collected from visualized computer memory maps, see DLL List Landscape: The Art from Computer Memory Space. I plan to include many images in my own full-color book for creative computer engineers and inquiring debugging minds this summer: Patterns of Computer Memory. Nature at the most amazing

Not Just your regular aerial views of our planet, but an amzing showing of places on earth that would take an awful long time to locate, if you were lucky. I truly recommed it to anyone that loves beauty, photography, science, and yes..... modern abstract paintings.

Amazing Photos

It is hard to believe that the photos in this book are real earth photos and not paintings. My only regret is that the book is too small to really appreciate the incredible detail and massive scope of the pictures. It would be a good idea to list the overall size of books, espically art-type books such as this one.Patterns Of The Earth
