Seeking answers behind the gold trail of the Breakers the heroes of Black Moor return to the ways of old that made Black Moor infamous. April of Black Moor and Marcus the Archer begin raiding caravans traveling from the Crossroads of the Caravans. The pivotal center of trade is widely used by all kingdoms and lands, including the leaders of the Breakers. Using technology from Earth the Black Moor warriors disguise themselves as Phantom Marauders. The Phantom Marauders swiftly gain a reputation because of their ability to appear, then disappear, leaving no trace of who they really are.
Not far away Benjamin and Svetlana arrive at Crighton Valley to study the ancient path that has been dormant for decades. When Svetlana reactivates the path to the mysterious world called Goldenrod, Benjamin and her discover more intriguing questions then answers. The Breakers have stolen tech from Goldenrod, violating their oath to keep tech from being used on Varna. When giant skulls are found, each with their own markings and different colored eyes, Benjamin and Svetlana know it is clues to the past.
Both couples must travel ancient roads and sail old rivers to unravel the power of the Breakers. When a power shift in the Breakers takes place evidence is found of an old enemy called the Seven Sea Nations. To protect Varna from the oncoming threat Marcus and April. with the aid of Benjamin and Svetlana, must find the ancient keys to uniting kingdoms to fight the Seven Sea Nations, or their world will burn in flames of war.
