Past Secrets Present Danger

By Brent Archer

Roger Matthews barely sees his boyfriend anymore. Between his demanding job at a Seattle marketing firm and Paul Tomlinson's long nights on patrol as a police officer, their relationship is already stretched thin, made worse by Paul's evasiveness about his past and the open disapproval of his partner on the force.

When Paul is injured in the line of duty, Roger is suddenly thrust into a world Paul has kept carefully closed off. While juggling a high-stakes software conversion at work, Roger takes on the responsibility of managing Paul's affairs, including contacting the family Paul has been estranged from for years.

Meeting Paul's parents forces long-buried truths into the open, and as Paul fights his way through recovery, Roger must decide how much of the past their love can survive. Caught between loyalty, unanswered questions, and an uncertain future, Roger faces the hardest challenge of all: holding on to the man he loves while discovering who Paul really is.

Though Past Secrets Present Danger is book two of the Rain City Tales, it can be read as a stand-alone story.
