Love at First Sight i

I found Dale and Rand’s quick romance believable because that’s the way it worked for us. The abandoned newborn was grippingly vulnerable and helpless. I only wish she could have written an ending about remaining fairly poor yet romantically happy. Many of us could identify with that. Did anyone else notice Rand’s spendthrift tendencies towards the end?

Probablly My Most Favorite That I Have Read So Far. Good Cold Winter And/Or Christmas Reading.

A loved favorite

When I was in highschool i found this book in the local used book store. It was a welcome change from all the hot and heavy romance stories. I loved the book instantly. It took me back to a time when things were different. I highly recomend this book. In moving overseas I missplaced my first copy and am now buying another one to share with my ESL students and also for my own pleasure. I have never read any of Grace Livingston Hills books but I feel that this book stands alone quite nicely.

Partners

This is a very quiet and lovely story that I dismissed at first reading but have learned to love and can now read over and over. The heroine's future looks very bleak indeed, but her hard circumstances lead her to look for God. There are some very profound spiritual truths here having to do with God's care for us when life is difficult -- not everyone comes out unscathed -- and the main characters come to know God during the course of the book.

A sweet story of faith and responsiblity

"Partners" is a story about a man and a woman who only know each other from passing each other on the stairs at the decrepit boarding house where they both live. One night, the man finds a baby lying on the boarding house doorstep and nearly frozen to death. Together he and the compassionate young woman fight for the baby's life, and fall in love in the process. It's a little bit simpler than a lot of Hill's books, but it's still a sweet story with a message of faith at the core.
