Excellent book on the Attributes of God

John MacArthur provides us with a book on theology proper that is in a sense a hidden treasure. We were trying to find a book for our youth ministry that expounds on the attributes of God with clarity and depth. We found that Our Awesome God is/was particularly useful in helping Believers of all ages grasp a foundational understanding of God's character. J.I. Packer's Knowing God is a classic, but if you are looking for something easier to read, but not lacking in theological depth, then I would highly recommend Our Awesome God. Each chapter is loaded with Scripture references and solid citations/quotes from saints like John Owen, Jonathan Edwards, A.W. Tozer, Thomas Watson, Stephen Charnock, Packer...etc. Even if you have already read Packer, Grudem, or any other book that expounds on theology proper, read this one as well and you will walk away with a deeper understanding of God's character and a higher view of God. The Study questions in the back of the book are perfect for personal study or for any Bible study group.

Short But Consise Book on Doctrine of God

If you are looking for a short, consise, but sound doctrinal book on the doctrine of God then I would encourage you to pick up a copy of Dr. John MacArthur's book. Each chapter of the book deals with an attribute of our awesome God. And in keeping with his tradition, Dr. MacArthur gives us pleanty of Scriptures to chew on as we look at our God.My only complaint is a good one in that I wish that this book were longer!
