Excellent collection of various essays

Although, I haven't read any of the other books in the "Opposing Viewpoints" series, I plan to after reading this one. I got this one from my local library and now want to buy it. The book is broken down into four chapters: 1) Is America's Health Care System in Need of Reform 2) How Has Managed Care Affected the Health Care System 3) What Government Initiatives Could Improve the Health Care System 4) How Should the United States Reform Its Health Care SystemEach chapter contains several well-written and insightful essays by various authors (workers in the healthcare field as well as others), who present their thoughts in answer to the question asked by the title of the chapter. And although the essays often support "opposing viewpoints," they are convincing and thoughful enough that you may find yourself agreeing with one essay, only to change your mind 180 degrees after the next passage. For anyone desiring to learn more about the health care system in the US, this is a book that will teach you by making you think. I think it would especially be useful for pre-medical or medical students for whom this subject matter is highly relevant these days.
