Potentially Incestuous, but nevertheless entertaining

Slight plot synopsis: The main character of the story is Kamishiro Maiku, a high school student who works as a programmer for a living. He chose to move to his new home due to a picture that holds the only clue to his past. His life makes a change for the better (?) when he meets a girl claiming to be his twin sister! Later in the day, another girl arrives to his humble abode claiming the same thing. Can Maiku believe these two girls, whose eyes are the same as his? And if he finds himself falling in love with one of them, how is he to know if she's related to him? Welcome to the world of Onegai Twins, where a blue-eyed girl can be either a stranger or your sister! For those familiar with the series, Go Zappa's version has the original Onegai Twins spirit, but offers a different ending, which gives fans a reason to experience the adventure all over again. Based on my summary, anime watchers and manga readers should be able to tell that the story is pretty much identical. The most significant change is the ending, which refers to the girl Maiku ends up with. (Refer to the following link if you would like a more in-depth, spoileristic comparison to the anime and manga series: http://unsquared.wordpress.com/2007/10/26/review-onegai-twins-by-go-zappa/) Overall, I liked the novel series better than the anime and manga because I felt the romance was less forced. Unlike English novels, these originally Japanese novels have some illustrations to show how the scene would've looked if animated (and colorless). If you're interested in reading a funny story that involves cute girls and love, go for it!

First of a two volume novel set...

Onegai Twins! is the story of a boy and his sister and a complete stranger. Maiku Kamishiro has found the home his family use to live in. He was orphaned at a early age and only has a photo to link him to his youth, a photo that shows him with his sister.Soon his life will be turned upside down as two girls show up at his family home, each with the same photo, each one assuming that THEY were his sister. The book is funny, has mature humor, but not as interesting as the novel based on Onegai Teacher! It may be because the DVDs are not yet available and I have no foundation to base the characters on. Luckily this novel starts off at the beginning of the story, so I'm not missing too much. There are also some old characters from the Teacher! episodes, but they have a few new ones also. But there are weird flaws. For example, one chapter is called "The Pinky Pledge" but nothing like that HAPPENS in the chapter OR the whole book. So I am missing SOMETHING.Either way it does make me want to watch the anime when it becomes available for me to buy. This is great for people who are already fans, but like the Teacher! series not for young readers. Remember, this is a text novel NOT a manga or graphic novel.
