One Last Resort

One Last Resort is a murder mystery set in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The author was a beachfront amusement operator in Asbury Park during the seventies and the eighties and the book is rich in historical insights. The book opens with the discovery of a dead girl in a bumper car, and the park employees discover that the death was part of a much bigger threat. They manage to foil the plot and save the town, all without interfering with business, and without abandoning their sense of humor. Any reader familiar with Asbury Park in its heyday will recognize many familiar places and themes.
