Sauter Hits a Home Run!!

This provocative and compelling novel absolutely transcends the standard fare dished out by so many suspense writers today. The characters and their dialogue are well-crafted and credible, but not predictable. There are hairpin turns and ironic twists aplenty in this book, all of which kept me up until 2:00 a.m -- I simply couldn't put it down. Sauter's characters are so real and your involvement with them becomes so intense, you simply don't want the book to end. She has hit a winner with One False Move. I loved it, and I'm really looking forward to her next!

Cops, druggies, kick-boxing and 3-D characters!

I'm not normally a detective-fiction fan, but I liked this a lot. Our heroine is well carved out; and she and protagonists are well described. I even laughed out loud at one well-wrought scene in a police interrogation room. Look for the well-researched details about chemistry, cops, New York and even opera. Stacey has done her homework, and it is appreciated. When this becomes a movie, I see a younger Jodie Foster playing our tyro detective/cop. Tom Cruise would be the too-smooth bad guy (but perhaps only because it would be good to see what happens to the bad guy happen to Cruise). In a formulaic bow to political correctness, the evil accomplice is a smoker, but I can forgive that. We know there's going to be a happy ending, but the reader is kept on the edge his seat. This novel is better then Stacey's first, and I'm looking forward to the next.

This book grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let go......

This was one book I couldnt put down....had to read it in one afternoon....From the opening sequence of the bank robbery...to the heroine's triumph at the end of the book...The reader is caught up in the excitement from the start...Stacey's writing is descriptive, honest with the right amount of edginess...I advise anyone who reads this book...dont skim it...make sure that you read every colorful word...because there are enough twist and turns that will keep you racing until the exciting ending...Stacey...WHEN IS THAT NEXT BOOK COMING OUT!

One False Move - A great Read!

I could not put this book down. The characters were a fascinating group, and you could just feel the suspense building as the story unfolds. Ms. Sauter has a real gift for developing a story with plenty of detail, beautifully written, but with a pace fast enough to keep your interest. This book is a great summer read. I can't wait for the next book - Mary Higgins Clark, watch out!

first to read it, first to review it

I was lucky enough to get a copy of "One False Move" before it's release date to the public. I am a huge fan of mystery novels and this one did not disappoint. Stacey Sauter's writing is so descriptive, I was left with such vivid pictures of the characters and their surroundings that I almost feel like I saw the movie version of her story. Will there be a movie one day? Let's hope....
