Once a Father

A little boy named Jake is at the Lone Star Country Club with his parents and decides he can go to the bathroom on his own . His parents agree and on the way he sees a T.V. room and takes a look inside. He sees men carrying big bags. In the next second a bomb goes off and little Jake is thrown in the air.A firefighter by the name of adam Collins goes in and saves little jake. His parents aren't so lucky and they die in the fire. Adam, the firefighters wife and son died in a fire at his apartment too. Somehow he felt connected to Jake. When jake arrived at the hospital, his doctor Tracy took him into surgery. A few days later Adam paid a visit to Jake and found out that he was tramatized and mute. Adam did some research and found out jake had no other relatives so he volunteered to care for the boy. Tracy decided to help out; she and Adam began to fall in love. Then something tragic happened. I liked this book because it was a mystery and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I also wanted to know what would happen to Jake. The story kept you wanting to read more and more. It's not a true story, but I can imagine it happening in real life. I like the relationship and feelings of love it showed between Jake and Adam. My favorite part in the book was when after he went with Jake to the hospital he couldn'tleave because he had becomr so attached. This was awkward for Tracy because she had never seen a firefighter take so much care into the people they saved. At first she thought that Adam was a relative but so realized he wasn't; just concerned. Tracy also had feelings for Adam but hadn't had a boyfriend in years so she wasn't sure.
