A nice visit to a familiar land

I loved Ella Enchanted as a child. So much so I own 6 copies of the book because they fall apart after being read so many times. So I was really excited to read this book. I enjoyed the little nods to the original book. Learning the history and seeing how the two stories entwined was very enjoyable. I read the book in one sitting and would read it again in a heartbeat.

Great for ages 12+

Adventure and a journey of the heart, this book has a main character who realizes over time that love is more than knowing someone longer than a couple days. The main character needs some space to sort her feelings. There is death and killings mentioned here, very matter-of-factly, so that's why I rate this 12+. This happens in the same fantasy land as Ella Enchanted. I'd suggest reading that first to understand fairies, but it's okay if you don't, the story can stand on its' own.
