If your serious about venturing far offshore either on your own or as a crew member for a seasoned sailor, then this is a fine book to start with as you tune your sailing skills. Jeremy brings a nice touch to the subject and prepares the reader for life as a crew member. It isn't glamorous and may be full of harships but there is certain joy that comes from the performance of a well-oiled crew that loves their boat, the sea, and the adventures that may come their way.
