Great Walk Through

Santa brought this book for my son for Christmas along with the Super Paper Mario game for Wii. He has read through it over and over and has had a ton of fun playing the game. As with the other Official Player's Guides, this book walks you through all the stages and lets you know of all the secret places and hidden items. It describes enemies and helps in a pinch when you are stuck and don't know what else to do. I don't like to look at it unless I am really stuck and don't feel like backtracking again. My son likes to know everything as he plays so that he doesn't miss anything. I think having some inside information makes the game more fun.

Simple and effective guide.

This guide is easy to follow and has all of the information you will need to complete the game. It is organized well, and the layout is fine. One of the biggest questions, I think, is whether or not you will really need a guide for this game. If you are more of a casual gamer who just wants to complete the main game and some of the more interesting optional parts, you may not need this. I really had very little difficulty with the main storyline - only the bonus dungeons gave me some trouble. If you want to collect everything and complete everything, this will definitely come in handy. Super Paper Mario isn't one of the tougher games I've played, and I think many people would have no trouble finishing it without a guide. But, I like to follow guides for most of the longer adventure games I play, and this one was worth using.

GREAT guide!

My son loves his new Wii (and all of his other Nintendo gaming)and along with every game he loves to get a guide. While some of his friends say they won't use them as "cheats" he finds that he gets more out of the game finding "secret codes" and such that let him do more. We don't feel it's a cheat in any way, just a great compliment to make the games more fun. The plus is that it means is doing more reading than he would if he were just playing the games and for young kids, reading is always a great thing, especially when they are very interested in the material. We have bought MANY of these Nintendo Guides and they are all GREAT!

Invaluable!

This Strategy Guide is very handy for making the most out of the experience of playing Super Paper Mario (which is itself a 5-Star+ game). Some sections of the game would be nearly impossible to navigate without the maps inside the guide.

Great to Give You a Leg Up

Whenever Nintendo comes out with a game, you can be sure Nintendo Power will have a guide. They make some of the best guides in the business, although they always seem to have little problems with them. Their Super Paper Mario guide is no exception, but it's still a pretty useful tool for those wanting to conquer the game and find everything there is to be found. Super Paper Mario has a ton of stuff to be found throughout the adventure. There are so many hidden secrets and passages. Going at it on your own can be tough. Luckily, this guide is a savior in the places where you're stuck. It's got detailed maps, all the puzzle solutions, and it isn't really all that difficult to use either. The guide begins, like most of them do these days, with the game basics, which is more or less a rehash of what's in your instruction manual. However, the guide also provides advanced tips that aren't in your manual, and some of them are pretty helpful. Granted, there's nothing in this section that you can't (or won't) figure out on your own, but it makes the guide handy for beginning gamers as well as expert gamers. After that we get into the characters and their skills, and then into the Pixls. These descriptions of your characters and Pixls are pretty brief, but a guide doesn't have to go on and on for pages and pages about something so simple. Nintendo Power gets right to the point. Afterwards we get into the walkthrough which is written in Nintendo Power's tried and true formula. If you've been using Nintendo Power guides for a while then you know what I mean. Each area has an introduction, a map, and the maps of course are decorated. Showing you what's in every box, where every item is etc. Neat. They also continue to use the point by point system that seems to have worked in their guides for years. By that I mean, you'll see a "1" marked on the map. Now find "1" in the text and read what it says you need to be doing at that location. It's fairly simple and straightforward to use. Likewise, the guide is made easier to use than previous guides. If you really just don't feel like reading for when you should flip, the guide will show you on the maps as indicated by a blue box (as well as a point). The walkthrough also provides you with a pull out map of Flipside, although it's inserted in a rather awkward place. If there were any criticism of the walkthrough it'd be that once again, the boss strategies seem lacking. The guide gives you a great offense, but like many Nintendo Power guides, it lacks in giving you a strong defense. Most bosses, however, aren't hard to figure out. The screenshots throughout the guide are also crystal clear, and they're taken in 16:9 mode, in case you're wondering (not that that really makes a big difference if you're playing 4:3). They accurately depict everything. On the whole, the walkthrough for this guide is just about perfect. It doesn't waste time, and it gets right to point. There are more
