Majid Hesabi was born in 1961 (1340 SH) in Isfahan, Iran.
At the age of twelve (1973/1352 SH), he began studying the tombak (Persian goblet drum) under the late Mohammadreza Badiei and pursued his training with great dedication. He later continued his studies under the guidance of Master Mohammad Esmaili, the late Master Bahman Rajabi, and Master Farrokh Mazhari.
Later, he had the privilege of benefiting from the generosity and mentorship of Master Hassan Kassai. This collaboration played a significant role in deepening his understanding of Persian compositions, rhythmic pieces, and Kassai's style of improvisation, becoming a major turning point in his musical career.
He has pursued tombak performance professionally for many years. Since 1977 (1356 SH), he has participated in numerous concerts both in Iran and abroad and has had the honor of performing alongside many of Iran's leading classical musicians.
In addition to performing, he is currently a tombak instructor at private music schools and cultural and artistic institutions in Isfahan.
