Dark and Twisty

This is a great psychological horror mystery! I love how Catriona Ward can create such dark and twisty stories that seem to contain a supernatural element but also could be construed as something hidden deep in the human mind! And this story is another winner of that genre. Centered deep in the Rockies at a ranch with a dark and famous history of murder and death, you are taken on a journey there with Riley and her brother Oliver, on the run and looking for safety at Nowhere. Though nothing is ever that easy and it might be a situation of out of the frying pan and into the fire. Jumping between a few viewpoints, the horror of Nowhere is uncovered, both its bloody past and twisted future haven of children with bizarre rituals and secrets that they keep safe. And it culminates into a dark present and a search for the truth to save a life. This was a fantastically done audiobook with the narrators, Christopher Ragland and Katherine Fenton bringing to life the story of Riley and Oliver, Mark, and Adam and how they are all connected by the darkness of the ranch known as Nowhere. I am really glad I got the chance to listen to this and discover another great horror filled story by Catriona Ward! Props also for a creepy cool cover!
