captivating story about female friendships

This is an intriguing story of women friends and what they learn about friendship, love and life after one of them dies. Emily Jane's death is the catalyst for a Midwest weekend reunion of four women arranged by the deceased woman's aunt, who, to deal with her loss, hopes to learn as much as possible about her niece by bringing her friends together. They arrive from various parts of the country with their different personalities, adult lives and fates. Their interactions during this unique event ultimately teach them more about themselves than about Emily Jane. Ironically, this becomes the deceased woman's gift to her living friends. Lauderdale writes enticing and perceptive sex scenes, and she differentiates her characters well in this complex, captivating novel.
