No Pity for Moses

Most of us are familiar with Moses. We've learned of him at our places of worship, from studying Biblical History or from the movie "The Ten Commandments".The trials of Moses once educed great sympathy from me. A worthier term would be compassion - sympathy compounded with the additional desire to relieve him of his onus - or at least lend him a hand. After a cruise through the book of Exodus, we should possess a greater understanding of how the Lord works in situations the carnal mind would deem frightful - if not down-right impossible. And we'll discover the sources of some nautical dictums we employ in every-day language. This is not a word-for-word analogy of Moses. Of the books I've read, the best one covering every aspect of Moses' life was compiled by Charles R. Swindoll. So let's not get technical. Information varies from different sources. One clergyman tells us two million Hebrews fled Egypt - another source reports three million in the Exodus. The focus here is discerning the Lord's message in His Word.Besides, there are laymen who believe and depend upon His Word more than most people in the pulpit do.Every night I "religiously" (as a habit) brush my teeth before going to bed, but this doesn't make me religious. Picture religion as the Church shattered into disagreeable sects, originally designed to be One Body with "singleness of heart".
