Sea View House

What can I add to the reviews above but to say that this was more exciting than the first. It makes you closer to the people and life in Pilgrim Cove. Sea View House was full. Both up stairs, refered to as the Crow's Nest and down stairs where Shelly and her two children would be staying. Daniel Stone and his dog will live in the Crow's Nest. Wonderful, natural wording in her writing draws you to the lively people of the town and the care they have for each other. Shelly become interested in Daniel and together they work for the best interest of the children. You will love his dog Jess. I hope you enjoy the working relationships of life in this book as I did. Pilgrim Cove.

Another winner!

Bart Quinn, the realty agent of the beach town known as Pilgrim Cove, only rented "Sea View House" out to special people in need. The house has a long history of bringing people together. He does not rent it out to just anybody. Oh, no. Somehow, Bart just knows the perfect people when he speaks with them. This summer, the second floor rents out to Daniel Stone, a professor who just accepted a job at Harvard, and his golden retriever, Jessie. Daniel is trying to get on with his life without his wife who died in an accident. The first floor is promised to Shelley Anderson and her two kids, Josh and Emily. They are trying to recover from a painful divorce and learn how to live as a family again. Shelley is timid and still hurting over Carl's adultery. Even though Daniel and Shelley intended to stay out of each other's way, Fate brings them together. Shelley believes she may even have a second chance at love. Enter Carl who has his eye on an open congressional seat. Carl will look better if he seems to be a devoted family man. If Shelley refuses to come back to him, he intends to take the children away from her. What Carl does not understand, though, is that Shelley is now not only a stronger woman than before, but she has Daniel and the entire town of Pilgrim Cove on her side. ***** Another winner by author Linda Barrett! Readers will find themselves never wanting to leave Pilgrim Cove and the people who live there. The secondary town characters always have something going on. You simply could not wish for a more witty and fantastic bunch of people. Don't pass up on this incredible read! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

No Ordinary Read

"Welcome to Pilgrim Cove. Population: Winter-5000. Summer-Lots Higher." With the follow-up to her successful launch book The House on the Beach Linda Barrett has hit her stride. Second of four books in Harlequin Superromance Pilgrim Cove series, No Ordinary Summer is the work of an author who has taken great writing talent and honed it to excellence. No Ordinary Summer is the story of kindergarten teacher Shelley Anderson and her two adorable children. Newly divorced, Shelley hopes a summer at Sea View house in Pilgrim Cove will heal the pain from the rift in the family. Thanks to the well-intentioned Bart Quinn, owner of Quinn Real Estate, Daniel Stone is leasing the top floor of Sea View house. A Harvard law professor, Daniel grieves the tragic loss of his wife and unborn child. Leave it to the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) and the rest of the locals of Pilgrim Cove to play matchmaker for Shelley and Daniel. Everything is going great-Shelley and Daniel are coaching little league together and taking walks on the beach-until Shelley's ex-husband shows up. He's running for congress and needs to improve his image. He'll do almost anything to get Shelley back, including trying to take the kids from her. With an endearing cast of supporting characters and a hero and heroine readers will love, Linda Barrett has penned another winner. Why not take a trip to Pilgrim Cove this summer? This reader can't wait to visit again.

second chance at love paranormal romance

Pilgrim Cove Realtor Bartolomew Quinn rents Sea View House to people in relational need as the abode has somehow magically brought people together. Bart is as enchanted as the house and he knows who the right people are for Sea View to weave its spell on. Bart leased the upper floor rents to Harvard Law Professor widower Daniel Stone and his dog, Jessie. The first floor belongs to divorcee Boston schoolteacher Shelley Anderson and her two kids, Josh and Emily. While Shelley remains emotionally battered from her former spouse's philandering and a nasty divorce, Daniel still mourns the accidental death of his wife. Although this couple has no reason to relate, an attraction springs up from the moment they meet. As they heal each other and her hurting children over the summer of love, her odious ex-husband Carl needs his old wife and children back to run for Congress on a family values platform. He blackmails Shelley with the threat of taking her to court over custody of the kids he ignored since their marriage dissolved. Only this time she has Daniel, her kids, a magical house and the Pilgrim Cove locals to help her do battle. NO ORDINARY SUMMER is an entertaining second chance at love paranormal (or perhaps just Bart's instinctive skills) romance. The lead couple is a fine pairing of two souls deserving of a lot of love. The support cast to include Sea View adds eccentricity, nurturing, and a wonderful mystic spin to the fine tale. Though Carl is an obnoxious opportunist oaf, the latest Pilgrim Cove tale is a fabulous read. Harriet Klausner
