Spanish Moss in Maine?

I found Nightwatch to be good read. It was well written. With a good plot. And, well developed charactors. It made me want to read the first two books. Which, after much searching, I did. And, hoping Henderson would continue writing such exciting novels. I'm just wondering one thing? Spanish moss hanging from the trees? Along the shore of a lake? Sure. I've seen it. In South Georgia and Coastal South Carolina. But, Maine? There's no such thing up there. It's too cold up there for Spanish moss. It's even too cold for it where I live. Northeast Georgia. Yepper, Henderson's description of Spanish moss way up in Maine gave me quite a laugh!
