Lynn Emery's first novel, "Night Magic" was indeed magical. It was entertaining! A superb story. After returning to Louisiana, Savannah St. Julien's friend, Charice, arranges a meeting between Savannah and Paul Honoree'. At first, their conversation is a little strained, but when they start to dance and Paul enfolds Savannah in his arms, Savannah finds it hard to resist. Then, the magic began. However, everything in Savannah and Paul's lives are not magical.Savannah is faced with envy and backbiting by a childhood acquaintance, LaShaun Rouselle, who has let her mother's feelings transfer to LaShaun. Not only does LaShaun let something from the past make her dislike Savannah, but LaShaun wants Paul for herself. LaShaun turns to "voodoo magic" to win Paul's love and conquer Savannah. However, the magic belongs to Savannah and Paul.
