Author Steve Steinke has done an excellent job of helping you to explore proper punch-down procedures; understand the different types of cabling used in networks; learn how to configure Windows for a network; discover LANs, MANs, and WANs; identify the various types of networks; explore network cabling; discover typologies used in networking; examine types of network operating systems; discover network protocols and how they "talk" to each other; define ethernet and explore how it uses a system known as CSMA/CD; identify seven layers of communication within a network; and, examine smart modems, IDSNs, DSLs, and cable modems; discover bridges, routers, and switches.
