Neri and the Missing Water: A Netism story

By Netism

Neri has found a leaf curled like a little boat. She sets it in the stream, but the water keeps carrying it away.

A few stones and a little mud will keep it close. Soon her boat is circling in a pool of its own.

Then Tump the toad calls from the ferns. Downstream, his pool has become a muddy puddle.

Neri didn't mean to take his water. Now she has to work out how to put things right.

Neri and the Missing Water is a story about noticing how our choices affect someone else, and caring enough to change what we do. Neri's wish to play matters, too.

The first book in the Little Threads series brings Netism's teaching of compassion into a woodland story for ages 3-8. Detailed illustrations accompany short passages for reading aloud or sharing with a developing reader. Two questions at the end invite children and grown-ups to talk about Neri's choices.
