Nameless in the Bible

Names in the Bible are very important, for every name had a meaning and reason for it. St John while concluding his account of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, says, "There was much else that Jesus did; if it were written down in detail, I do not suppose the world itself would hold all the books that would written" (John 21:25). This could be one of the reasons why there are nameless persons associated with the work of God. Perhaps many of them would have intended to remain nameless, letting the name of their God reign supreme.
