Mystical Oak: The Journey Westward

A brother and sister, twelve and eight years old, create a gifting ceremony for a special friend who has assisted them through troubled times. This gesture of gratitude sends them off, unexpectedly, on a mysterious and challenging quest which is by times, both magical and terrifying. The children have animal guides to assist them for some sections of their journey, but are also asked to face their greatest fears all alone on more than one occasion, in order to save themselves and one another. Although the story reads like an action-packed, fantasy adventure, it is also one of the regaining of faith and trust by these two siblings. They must try to learn to trust again, in themselves and others, after feeling that they had been abandoned and betrayed by those that they'd loved and trusted in most. This is a story which appeals to both child and adult.
